1. The origin and development of violet laser

Nichia company in Japan was founded in 1998. It is the first company to successfully develop violet laser with wavelength between 391~420nm. Because the wavelength of violet laser is short and its laser spot is small, it can write more data in the storage medium with the same density with a better optical focusing lens. Because the wavelength of violet laser is close to the exposure wavelength of traditional PS version, some CTP equipment manufacturers also hope to transplant this technology to the printing industry. The first companies to launch violet laser CTP equipment are mainly Agfa and futu. As of the drupa exhibition in 2004, more than 10 companies have launched violet laser CTP equipment. Some plate production companies have also launched plates matching the equipment

2. Advantages of violet laser


① high resolution

Nichia is the main manufacturer of purple laser diode. Some manufacturers tend to buy fully assembled imaging heads and install them on their own plate making machines. From a practical point of view, if the printing resistance is within 250000 prints and the accuracy is less than 250 lines/inch, I believe violet laser is an ideal choice
